Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the QuoteFor mobile app ("QuoteFor", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. QuoteFor is operated by Hyunwook (George) Jung, an individual developer. If you have any questions, contact hywook4@gmail.com.

Information we collect

Account information

• When you first open the app, we create an anonymous account through Firebase Authentication and assign it an account ID. You don't need to give us your name or email to use QuoteFor.
• If you choose to link a Google or Apple account, we receive the email address associated with that account (which may be a private relay address if you use Apple's "Hide My Email"). Firebase also keeps the sign-in provider identifiers needed to let you sign in again.

Information you provide

• Situations you describe. When you use a situation draw, we receive and store the text you type so we can choose a quote for you and show it again in your history.

Information created as you use the app

• Your draws: which cards you drew, when, and whether you flipped them.
• Your device's time zone, and the time you last signed in.
• Technical logs on our servers (for example, errors), which may include your account ID.

What we don't collect

• We don't use advertising or third-party analytics tools, and we don't track you across other apps.
• We don't access your location, contacts, photos, or microphone.
• The motion sensor is used only on your device to detect a shake for drawing a card. That data never leaves your device.
• Card images you share are created on your device and sent through your phone's share sheet. We don't receive them.

How we use information

• To run the app: create your account, record your draws, and show your collection and history.
• To choose a quote and write a short reading for your situation draws.
• To keep the service secure, fix problems, and respond to your requests.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.

AI processing

When you use a situation draw, the text you write is sent to OpenAI to generate a quote and a short reading. We send it with the setting that tells OpenAI not to store the response for later retrieval. OpenAI processes this data under its API policies. Please don't include sensitive personal information (such as health details or information about other people) in what you write.

Service providers

We rely on these providers to run QuoteFor. They process data on our behalf.

• Google Firebase — sign-in and account management
• Amazon Web Services — server hosting (United States, Oregon)
• MongoDB Atlas — database hosting (on AWS, United States, Oregon)
• OpenAI — generating quotes and readings for situation draws

Your information is stored and processed in the United States. We may also disclose information if required by law.

How long we keep information

We keep your account information, draws, and the situations you wrote for as long as your account exists, so you can see your collection and history. When you delete your account, we delete this information from our database and delete your Firebase account. Quote cards themselves are shared content and are not personal information.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account. You can delete your account and data at any time. See how to delete your account.
• Access or correct your information. Email us and we'll help.
• California residents. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Children

QuoteFor is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and access to our systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

This website

This website doesn't use cookies or analytics. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above. For significant changes, we may also let you know in the app.
